Nominations Open for the 2016 MARS Awards

(GWINNETT- METRO ATLANTA) September 14, 2016 — Partnership Gwinnett announced today that nominations are being accepted for the Annual Metro Atlanta Redevelopment Summit Awards, presented by Georgia Power.

The premiere redevelopment event in the region, the Metro Atlanta Redevelopment Summit (MARS), brings together more than 200 developers, commercial real estate brokers, elected officials, business leaders and community development experts. The summit features an inside look at the region’s upcoming redevelopment projects, information on trends affecting the industry, as well as expert advice from industry leaders.

The awards presented will recognize outstanding redevelopment projects in the region, as well as recognize one individual’s work and dedication to redevelopment in metro Atlanta.

“We recognize the importance of redevelopment initiatives in the metro region, and the impact they have on economic development,” said Doug Jenkins, the Metro North Region Manager for Georgia Power Company. “We believe the Metro Atlanta Redevelopment Summit is a key factor in promoting and encouraging the region’s redevelopment projects and we are pleased to be the presenting sponsor.”

Nominations are being accepted in the following four categories:

Neighborhood Redevelopment Award (less than 1 acre)

Community Redevelopment Award (1-10 acres)

Regional Redevelopment Award (more than 10 acres)

Redevelopment Champion of the Year

Nominations are open through Monday, September 26 and the winners will be recognized at the Metro Atlanta Regional Summit on Thursday, October 6.
