Partnership Gwinnett Announces 2013 Award Winners

Imaginative, Innovative, and Influential leaders and businesses honored

(GWINNETT- METRO ATLANTA) November 15, 2013—Gwinnett County’s community and economic development initiative, Partnership Gwinnett, announced the winners of its 2013 Imagination, Innovation, and Influence Awards during its annual Summit this afternoon. Recognizing one leader and one company in each category, the awards honored efforts supporting transformative concepts, community leadership, and economic progress in the County.

The Partnership Gwinnett Imagination Award recognizes creative methods that have transformed the way entities market or engage with their customers, residents, or students.

  • Individual WinnerAnthony Rodriguez, Producing Artistic Director for the Aurora Theatre. Awarded for his delivery of bold, diverse theatre, which has helped drive the Gwinnett arts community to become one characterized by participation, inclusiveness, and widely acclaimed success.
  • Company WinnerCornerstone at NovoLogic. Recognized for its creation of a visionary coworking space and collaborative atmosphere that encourages the sharing of ideas, talents, and experience in downtown Lawrenceville.

“We are continually looking for ways to amplify the theatre experience, engage more Gwinnettians, and build a stronger, more inclusive arts community,” stated Rodriguez. “Partnership Gwinnett plays a strategic role in Aurora’s mission ‘to create a new generation of theatre goers,’ by recognizing and highlighting the positive impact arts have on economic development and the vitality of a community. They have been instrumental in many of the County’s arts initiatives, including the formation of ArtWorks! Gwinnett. We are grateful for our partnership and thankful for this distinguished recognition.”

The Partnership Gwinnett Innovation Award distinguishes individuals and companies that develop unique products, ideas, initiatives, and services that help create a competitive advantage.

  • Individual WinnerDenise Brinson, Economic & Community Development Director for the City of Suwanee. Honored for her contributions and implementation of plans, events, and initiatives that led to the City’s visionary Town Center and public art exhibits, among other achievements.
  • Company WinnerHeatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration. Awarded for its state-of-the-art Innovation Center, which features innovative global commercial refrigeration products that serve over 70 countries worldwide, a training center that provides the industry product and advanced refrigeration technology leadership, along with an expanded high-tech laboratory committed to product development, regulatory compliance and continuous quality improvement, in the Evermore Community Improvement District.

The Partnership Gwinnett Influence Award honors extraordinary companies and individuals that have made an impact in the community through volunteerism or organizational participation.

  • Individual WinnerJ. Michael Levengood, Partner, McKenna Long & Aldridge, LLP. Awarded for his leadership as the co-chair of the Engage Gwinnett effort; co-chair of the Transition Steering Committee for the Gwinnett Chamber; Chair of the Governance Committee for Gwinnett Medical Center; and Partnership Gwinnett Chair for Goal Two: World Class Talent, a position he has held for the past six years.
  • Company WinnerThomas A. Andersen, Andersen, Tate & Carr, P.C. Recognized for leading a company culture that emphasizes community involvement and investment in Gwinnett County, and personal and professional participation in numerous community boards including the Gwinnett Chamber, the Georgia Gwinnett College Foundation and the Gwinnett Medical Center Hospital Foundation.
