Sugarloaf Crossing is a 160+/- acre mixed-use development located in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The project is located in the rapidly developing University Parkway (SR 316) corridor of Northeast Metropolitan Atlanta.
Accessible pedestrian areas and open space have been designed to create
an impactful identity for Sugarloaf Crossing and serve as the unifying element
of the development. This well-designed open space system blends private,
public, natural and planned open space to establish a sense of place and
continuity for the development.
Where possible, the design of public and private spaces should be influenced
by its surrounding uses while incorporating a unified architectural theme to
increase this defined sense of place in Sugarloaf Crossing.
The pedestrian-friendly charm of the streetscape will enhance the ambiance
and character of Sugarloaf Crossing while encouraging pedestrians to walk
everywhere within the development. Comprised of a series of options such as
standard sidewalk widths, enhanced sidewalks with street furnishings, boardwalks
and greenway trails, the planned pedestrian network will connect
employees, visitors and residents to the business, residential and retail
opportunities within Sugarloaf Crossing.
